The universe gives you exactly what serves you. This is how we are taking the news of the house we built burning down. It was only two years ago we spent 9 months building our own tiny home in the dusty and dry southern California forests of Fallbrook. The fires consumed our baby home last week.
Currently, we are studying in Thailand with our dog (Kiba) and cat (Mhyrr) and have chosen to take this as an omen to stay in Thailand. However, we were not planning or budgeting a life here nor had we insured the tiny home. Yes, that’s right, no fire insurance. So, now we are left without roughly 20k of a home and materials.Luckily, we believe in abundance and do not require nearly that much to feel fully home in Thailand. We can build most of it back slowly. We found a lovely cottage that we can rent in Thailand, but the long-term goal is to have a tiny van home of our own again. It would be wonderful for us not to feel that we lost it all but gained a community of support and love and a new home in Chiang Mai. I know that with a little help from everyone we can purchase tools, lumber, and paint and start to rebuild a home in Thailand. The one thing we did not lose was the skills we gained building that tiny home! We will show the project along the way so that you can see your support grow to fruition. If we fundraise a lot, we could even buy a van- and believe me, I already have the design!
Giving has a butterfly effect of awesomeness. I know this well from loving my practice of tiny living and running a healing based business. It feels good to give. We all know that in times like this it is easy to feel a lack. Through practicing non-attachment and the belief that we are in this together, I ask you to please offer what you can to help start our new journey.
